Filming In Sherwood Forest
With its unique architecture and lush, wooded landscapes, Sherwood Forest has served as a premier location for everything from commercial shoots and television series to major motion pictures. While we welcome the vibrant film industry to our neighborhood, the Sherwood Forest Civic Association (SFCA) is committed to ensuring that productions are respectful of our residents and our infrastructure.
Guidelines for Production Companies
To maintain the quality of life for our neighbors, all production companies must adhere to the following:
- Permitting: Crews must obtain all required permits from the City of Atlanta to operate within Sherwood Forest.
- Community Impact Fee: To offset the inconvenience to the neighborhood, we request that production companies donate 10% of their filming expenses to the SFCA. These funds are used for neighborhood beautification and security projects that benefit the entire community.
- Logistics & Security: Our Filming Liaison works directly with production coordinators to manage traffic, parking, and security to minimize the footprint of the shoot.

- Review the Code of Conduct: Please consult our “Good Neighbor” Filming Code of Conduct for guidance on what to expect and how to negotiate your neighborhood's needs.
- Share our Producer Guidelines: You are encouraged to provide the production company with our Producer Guidelines early in the process.
